1. High Mercury Fish

However, consuming too much animal-based vitamin A is not advisable for you when you are pregnant. The consumption of too much animal-based vitamin A, particularly in the first trimester of your pregnancy, can lead to miscarriage and congenital malformations.

6. Unpasteurised dairy products

You should avoid drinking unpasteurized milk, or milk brought directly from farms. It is as it has a higher level of bacteria that can make you have diarrhea, bowel infections, and common discomfort. Similar to milk, unpasteurized cheese has a bacteria called listeria. Due to this, consuming unpasteurized cheese can cause you to have headaches, convulsions, chills, and meningitis. The baby in your uterus might have an interruption in brain development.

7. Unwashed fruits and vegetables

Fresh fruits and seasonal vegetables are good for health. However, you should avoid consuming them if you haven’t washed them well. Unwashed fruits and vegetables have toxoplasmosis contamination that can make you prone to have preterm labor, miscarriage, malformations, and baby death.

8. Alcoholic beverages

Many experts advise pregnant women not to drink alcoholic beverages. Drinking alcohol triggers the risk of stillbirth and miscarriage. Even if you take it in a very small amount, it affects the brain development of your baby. It can cause fetal alcohol syndrome which includes heart defects, facial deformities, and intellectual disability. During pregnancy, you must avoid drinking.

9. Processed junk or fast foods

During pregnancy, you should eat what can benefit you and the baby in your womb. You should take all nutritional elements through your meal with a focus on iron, protein, choline, and folate.

Processed junk or fast foods lack these nutritional elements and are high in calories, added fats, and sugar. Consuming fast foods can make you have an excess body weight that can increase the risk of gestational diabetes and pregnancy complications.

10. Artificial sweeteners and juices

Juices and sweeteners are good for health. However, you (pregnant women) should avoid taking them. Outside, they are made artificially and are not good for you. Drink juices and sweeteners made at your home.
